What do I get for free?
Paste a live URL and CalDev Studio prepares a homepage mock from what you already have online. It is a proposed redesign of the homepage — not a full site build, and not a live change to your current site.
What is the New Web Refresh?
The door offer is $997. It is a theme install plus an SEO, AEO, and GEO foundation: schema, FAQ, llms.txt, robots that allow AI crawlers, Google Search Console, Bing, and IndexNow, Core Web Vitals work on the template, and 301s where they belong. You own the site when we are done.
What is not included in the Refresh?
The Refresh is not a custom brand system, not a full rewrite of every interior page, not copywriting for the whole site, not photography, not a shop build, not paid ads, and not a ranking guarantee. Homepage-only work, Webflow, Sanity, Mailchimp, local SEO retainers, and AEO pillar pages are separate offers.
Do I own the site after the install?
Yes. The Refresh is an install on a site you own. CalDev Studio does not keep the keys. Managed hosting and care are optional after that.
Will this get me to #1 on Google or ChatGPT?
No, and we will not promise that. The work is a foundation so search engines and AI systems can crawl, understand, and cite the site. Rankings and AI answers move for many reasons we do not control.
How is this different from buying a prettier theme?
A theme change can look new and still be invisible to Google and to the systems that write AI answers. The Refresh is built for that layer: schema, FAQ in real HTML, llms.txt, crawler access, search console setup, and template performance — not just a skin.
What do you mean by AEO and GEO?
AEO is answer engine optimization: making the site extractable for AI answers (clear questions, real HTML, schema). GEO is generative engine optimization: the same idea for generative search. Neither is a trick to force a #1 citation.
What is the homepage-only option?
Homepage-only is $497 when you want the proposed homepage live and nothing else in that pass. It is not the full Refresh foundation.
What does managed hosting and care include?
Hosting plus care is $149 a month. Hosting-only is $99 a month. Care is the ongoing keep-the-lights-on work after the install. It is hosting for WordPress — not a trademarked “WordPress hosting” product, and not a rewrite every month.
Can you move us off a site running WordPress software?
Yes, as a separate premium project. Webflow starts at $1,495. A move from a site running WordPress software to Webflow starts at $2,500. Sanity starts at $8,000. Those are not the $997 Refresh.
How many installs do you take?
About three or four installs a week. That cap is how Dave keeps the work limited and done by one person in La Jolla, not a factory.
Who is CalDev Studio?
CalDev Studio is Dave Newman in La Jolla, California. He has spent more than twenty years managing sites running WordPress software. The brand is CalDev Studio — singular. It is not CaliDev or CaliDevs.
